A technical training program will insure that a skilled staff is available to the testing group. Testers must be properly trained so they can do their jobs both efficiently and effectively. At level 3 of the TMM, the testing staff is trained in test planning, testing methods, standards, and tools. At the higher levels of the TMM the training program will prepare testers for identifying, collecting, analyzing and applying test-related metrics. The training program also will prepare the staff for the review process, and provide instruction for review leaders. It will provide training for process control and defect prevention activities.
