The Faculty of Information Technology (IT) was established on November 11, 1994, concurrently with the founding of Duy Tan University. Over more than 21 years of operation, the Faculty has developed steadily, consistently proving itself as a flagship training department of Duy Tan University and a prestigious provider of IT human resources for many years.

Based on the mission of Duy Tan University, the Faculty of IT defines its own mission as: “To train high-quality IT human resources with the knowledge, skills, and professional ethics to meet the requirements of domestic and international enterprises.” The Faculty's objective by 2020 is to become a leading unit in training and technology transfer nationwide, playing a core role in scientific research, corporate relations, and international integration of Duy Tan University.

Currently, Duy Tan University organizes admissions and training from the Associate to the Doctoral level in Information Technology (Associate/Bachelor's since 1995, Master's since 2009, Doctorate since 2013). Within this structure, the Faculty of IT directly manages and organizes full-time Associate and Bachelor's programs with a scale of 1,200 full-time students, offering 3 majors: Software Engineering, Network Engineering, and Information Systems.

With the motto of strengthening international cooperation and continuous innovation to enhance training quality, the Faculty of IT has implemented a partnership program with Carnegie Mellon University (USA) for curriculum transfer and faculty training from 2008 to the present. Additionally, the Faculty has applied the CDIO model in training, approaching and preparing for international accreditation according to ABET standards in the coming period.

With contributions to the cause of education and achieved milestones, the Faculty of IT is honored to have received many Certificates of Merit from the Board of Directors/School Board of Duy Tan University, a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee (2009), and a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training (2014).
